OUR STORY

El Escritorio was founded in 1989 as a translation service but it soon evolved into a publishing and event management  business. For over twenty five years it published books and special event magazines written about the people who have been and are an important part of the Hispanic Southwest. Five art shows featuring Hispanic artists were held at the Sangre de Cristo Art center from 1994 - 1998 and fourteen were held at the Heritage Center during the eleven day Colorado State Fair from 2000 - 2013. El Escritorio's  founder Edward Terrones Simms passed away in the summer of 2013 and the business has been operating quietly for the last five years. However, it was Ed's wish for El Escritorio to grow in a social media environment. In the next year his family plans on gearing up for this.

This website will be a combination of publishing and genealogy info with a page of Musings, reflections of life through the written word written by family members and writers who want to share their Musings. This website is a work in progress so come back and visit from time to time to see what's going on in the world of e-publishing, book publishing, art, events and commentaries on the world around us.
